Stories for the past 2 weeks...
It’s been two weeks since I’ve updated our blog…so many things have happened since then…I was too busy with my work as QMR for our ISO Certification that I barely check other W@Wies’ blogs…too busy to reply to other emails…even too busy to make updates for other June brides…haayyy!!! I guess stress had taken its toll on me. Friday, April 29, I still reported for work even though I felt weak already Thursday night. I ignored the signs of an impending sickness…shortness of breath (always the case as I have asthma), sore throat, mild cough and eyes that seem to throb heat… I should have heeded my mom’s warning not to report for work anymore. Even John told me not to go anymore…he probably sensed I was already too weak. Before noon, my cough was getting terrible I started to have asthma attack and my eyes were blazing hot. My officemates were one in saying I should go home asap! I had to call John to fetch me in the office…pinagalitan tuloy ako kasi ang kulit ko daw! Na-miss ko tuloy EB ng June brides that afternoon...
I rested the whole Friday afternoon coz we have an appointment with our invitations supplier in the afternoon, not to mention 2 of my FGs were scheduled for measurement with Winston. SInce wala na me fever, we went to Winston's shop ...Minor setback: Winston asked for an additional 10k for the gowns...haayy!!! Feeling yata ni WInston ang yaman namin...reluctantly I agreed na rin...still weak to argue and haggle with him...basta I made him promise na lang na dapat super ganda ng gowns namin...especially mine! Sumakit yata lalo ulo ko sa gastos...buti na lang we just got our "B"...not big as we hoped for, but still that's a blessing to be thankful for. Winston consoled me a bit..."Di bale, maraming blessings and darating pag kasal na kayo..." I had to agree...God has given us so much blessings...and never ceases to give more...

Staurday afternoon...after we finalized our invites layout with C2, on our way home, John and I just stopped by for a quick merienda of hot beef mami. John asked me if I want to go to to his uncle's birthday, but I still was not feeling very fine and so
we went home agad around 5pm. We were watching TV when we heard my cousin's frantic shouts "Sunog! Sunog!" John leapt from the sofa where he was lying and immediately went outside. I hurriedly went to call the fire station, as John went back inside. The fire was at the factory located just outside the subdivision gate...around 100~150 meters from our house...I heard my mom panicking "Joy! May sunog!" I told my mom not to panic..I surveyed that even though the fire started to get bigger (from our house the orange flames wer very visible and the thick black smoke rose heavily in the air), the chances of our house catching fire was not that big, but I made a silent prayer that the fire won't spread to neighboring houses. It was a blessing in disguise that I was still not feeling very well...or else John and I would have gone out for dinner or might have gone to his uncle's birthday party...leaving my mom alone in the house, as my elder sis was out on a date with her bf. Both asthmatics, my mom and I watched as the black smoke loomed larger in the sky, and the flames kept getting bigger...should we start packing things? There is big house at the corner of our subdivision, across the factory but very near it...if that house caught fire, we're in big trouble...but God is truly very good. The wind at that time was blowing towards northwest...had it blown northeast towards the subdivision...it would be panic time for our block, the nearest to the factory in fire. Great, too, that a fire station was located near the barangay which was a block away from the factory...firetrucks came within minutes. At least we were able to stay calm...around 8pm, the fire was contained. Thank Lord no one was hurt...thank Lord that despite the hardships in life, there is always something to be thankful for...and that day...that night, I'm sure our neighborhood was very thankful we were spared from that blaze...
